It was our second wedding anniversary, and my husband and I ended our night in the dark - whispering through fences, searching for a senior cat belonging to an older man who had held my hands earlier that day, tears in his eyes, telling me she was one of the last pieces of his wife. Seventeen years ago they had rescued Ariel (a gorgeous Siamese cat) together. And because of one faulty door latch that blew open in the wind... he thought he'd lost her forever.
